Dr. Kim Hammond’s commitment to improving animal’s lives stretches from Baltimore to the far reaches of the world. In 1981, he opened Falls Road Animal Hospital, which remains the only 24-hour continuous care facility in the state. Elsewhere, Dr. Hammond helped create the trails in the National Park on the Galapagos Islands. He started the first department of Small Animal Medicine in communist China. He led a Sloth Rescue team to Costa Rica. He is one of the directors of the Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project in Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. A frequent expert on national and local TV, Dr. Hammond was also named one of America’s Top Vets. Congratulations, Dr. Kim Hammond. [The Daily Record]
